This is an Open Elective-I subject of B.Tech Third year in AKTU (Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam Technical University). This is a 3 Credit Subject. This will have 150 Marks in total, including 50 Internal Marks and 100 End Semester Examination Marks.
In this course, students will learn the fundamental principles and techniques of starting and sustaining a business enterprise. The primary objective of this course is to provide students with an understanding of the critical components of the entrepreneurial process and to develop their basic competencies to run a business enterprise successfully.
The course will cover the basics of choosing an idea for a business model, including assessing market opportunities, identifying potential customers, and understanding the competition. Students will learn the process of developing a business plan and how to communicate their ideas effectively to investors and stakeholders.
In addition to entrepreneurship development, the course will focus on PPC (Product, Price, and Communication) and the communication system, which are the core areas of choosing a business model. By the end of the course, students will have a comprehensive understanding of how to start and sustain a business enterprise.

Unit 1: Introduction
Search for a business idea – How to choose an idea- Product idea- selection of product – The adoption process – Product innovation – Production, planning and development strategy – New product idea.
Unit 2: Introduction to Entrepreneurship
Meaning and concept of entrepreneurship – Difference between Entrepreneurship & wage employment – Functions of an Entrepreneur – Entrepreneur vs Manager – role of entrepreneurship in economic development – Barriers to entrepreneurship.
Unit 3: The Entrepreneur
Types of entrepreneurs – Competencies required to become an entrepreneur – Creative and Design Thinking, the entrepreneurial decision process – The process of Entrepreneurial development prog (EDP) – Evaluation of EDP – Entrepreneur development training.
Unit 4: Production system
Design of production system – Types of production system – Production, planning & control (PPC) – Steps of PPC.
Unit 5: Communication
Importance of communication system – barriers to communication – listening to people – the power of talk – personal selling – risk taking & resilience – negotiation.
