After achieving the most subscribed Telecom operator mark, Jio has aced the charts, yet again, this time in terms of revenue market share, in the June quarter. With a market share of 31.7%, Jio has stood number 1, according to the data by TRAI (analyzed by ICICI Securities)
Whereas, Airtel stood second with a market share of 30% and Vodafone Idea Ltd was third with a 28.1% share. On the other hand, the market share of state-owned operators, BSNL and MTNL, rose from 7.1% in the last quarter to 8.6% this quarter
This makes Jio number one in terms of both, subscriber base and revenue. By doing this, Jio has achieved a rare feat in itself by topping the market in less than just three years of it starting operations
Right now, Jio holds the No 1 position in 13 circles and continues to enjoy a strong position in the B and C circles (small towns and rural markets).
On the other hand, Vodafone is losing revenue share in leadership circles like Kerala, Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, and Gujarat, which bring in a total of 28% of the company’s revenue.
