iPhone 15 Series Launching in India: Price and Design Revealed for September 2023

Apple is set to manufacture the iPhone 15 in India and plans to ship them from the country upon its launch. This move marks a first for the Indian market and indicates that the tech giant is gradually increasing its production in India and diversifying its supply chain away from China. Apple has already started producing casings for the iPhone 15 in India with the help of local suppliers such as Jabil, which already assembles AirPods in the country. Apple has also plans to manufacture Apple Pencil in India shortly.

While China is one of the biggest manufacturing markets for Apple, the company has realised that it cannot be overly dependent on one market for the production of its devices. There have been several reports about violent protests at Apple’s Zhengzhou factory in China, where workers were not happy with their wages, and this reportedly sabotaged the company’s production cycle. Additionally, Covid-19 restrictions in China and other issues have forced the tech giant to explore other regions to avoid hampering the production of its devices.

Although Apple is reportedly going to manufacture the iPhone 15 in India, it is not expected to result in a lower price for the device. Despite producing iPhones in India for some time, Apple has not lowered the price of its devices in the country. However, there may be discount offers available on online platforms in the future. The iPhone 15 series is set to launch in September this year, according to previous launches, so more information on pricing and availability should be available closer to that time.

In addition to this news, reports suggest that Apple is making major design changes to the iPhone 15 Pro models. The upcoming iPhone 15 Pro models will feature a titanium case with rounder edges and will say goodbye to physical buttons and mute switches. Instead, Apple will replace them with solid-state haptic and mute buttons. The feedback should be similar to the Home Button of the iPhone 7 series and the iPhone 8 series. The report also stated that the “mute switch will also receive the haptic treatment and will instead function as a push button.”

The iPhone 15 Pro models will feature a USB Type-C port and the faster USB 3.1, whereas the standard models will feature the USB 2.0 port. The upcoming Pro models will also have tinier bezels than ever, with the bezels around the OLED display measuring a mere 1.55mm. The rear camera setup continues to include three sensors, and the individual lens protrusion has more than doubled from the iPhone 14 Pro’s enormous cameras. The camera module is thicker due to Apple likely to use some new sensor technology that will capture more light and reduce overexposure or underexposure in certain settings. The camera module also features the LiDAR sensor and an LED flash module.

In conclusion, Apple’s move to manufacture the iPhone 15 in India shows that the company is diversifying its supply chain and moving some of its business to other regions. This could help the tech giant to avoid production hiccups due to any future issues in China.
