Xiaomi sub-brand Redmi launched the Redmi K20 series i.e., Redmi K20 and Redmi K20 Pro recently in India. These smartphones are killer in the price segment of Rs 20,000 to Rs 30,000 and It’s time for their successor aka Redmi K30 and Redmi K30 Pro.
Redmi’s General Manager Lu Weibing officially confirms the Redmi K30 on Weibo (Chinese microblogging site). He confirms that the “Redmi K30 is in the works“.
He also confirms that the Redmi K30 will come with 5G support which will be powered on Latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 700 5G Series. Which will be a massive upgrade over the Redmi K20.
These smartphones may have a 5G variant and a regular 4G variant or only 5G version. Most likely there will be two versions of the Redmi K30 series. The 5G version of the Redmi K30 is expected to be slightly more expensive than the regular 4G version.
Although Weibing has not disclosed the exact pricing of the upcoming Redmi K30 yet, in response to a comment asking whether the Redmi K30 will be priced above CNY 2,000 (roughly Rs 20,000), Weibing merely responded by saying that “5G SoC is still very expensive”. Which means it will be more expensive by CNY 1,000-2,000 (roughly Rs 1,000 – 2,000).
These smartphones may be launched at the end of this year or in the Q1 of 2020.
