In a major boost for iPhone fans in India, Apple has slashed prices across its entire iPhone lineup. The price reduction comes on the heels of the recent cut in customs duty for smartphone imports announced in the Union Budget 2024.
The Indian government reduced the basic customs duty (BCD) on imported smartphones from 20% to 15%. This translates to a reduction of 5% in import costs for smartphone manufacturers like Apple. As a result, Apple has passed on the benefit of this duty cut to consumers by reducing iPhone prices in India.
Effective immediately, iPhone prices in India will be as follows:
Model | New Price (₹) | Old Price (₹) | Price Reduction (₹) |
---|---|---|---|
iPhone 15 Pro Max | 1,54,000 | 1,60,000 | 6,000 |
iPhone 15 Pro | 1,29,800 | 1,35,000 | 5,200 |
iPhone 15 Plus | 89,600 | 89,900 | 300 |
